The importance of being together
We believe in the importance of building up faith among believers. Therefore we support projects that go beyond simply bringing the Biblical message to people who have not yet heard of Jesus. With the projects we support, we want to create framework conditions for the growth of an active church life. We invest worldwide in the development of regional meeting centres with good facilities for faith building, overnight accommodation, meals and activities for all age groups.
Local involvement
We involve local people in the projects at an early stage. This will create a sense of ownership among those who will also use the meeting centres and will make it easier to maintain the functions after the project. In addition, local involvement provides opportunities and employment.
Empowerment
In many of the countries in which we work, young people have little chance of finding work. With our projects we want to strengthen the local population and help them to provide for themselves. By offering them training and work experience, we increase their chances and create a basis for a healthy quality of life and further development.
Our working method
The support provided by WEW is mainly financial in nature. Where possible, the execution of the project and the project management will be carried out by local forces. This is in line with our vision of increasing local involvement and strengthening local people.
WEW carefully assesses applications for support and own initiatives against the foundation’s objectives. WEW is closely involved in the project plan, planning and budget and assesses whether sufficient knowledge and capacity are available locally to carry out the project. Sometimes it is necessary to deploy expertise from other locations. WEW continuously monitors the progress and development of the projects by means of project reports.
